PSHE Module 1: Financial Capability & Wellbeing.
This module consists of activities designed for year groups 9, 10 and 11. It is designed to support teachers understand the connections between careers education and financial education, to help schools develop an integrated approach to the delivery of financial education through careers education and other curriculum subjects, and to provide practical ideas and activities for teaching financial education within careers education.
The aim is to enable teachers to help students explore the concepts and processes relevant to financial capability. The module is designed to help teachers deliver financial education flexibly across a range of subjects and learning opportunities. It can be used in a number of ways, for example to:
The first part of the resource provides an introduction to financial education and how to develop a coherent approach to financial education across the school curriculum.
The second part includes practical activities and learning opportunities for teachers to deliver. These will encourage discussion, group work and problem-solving, as well as general information and advice on handling sensitive issues to enable confident and thoughtful delivery of a PSHE education.
